My gourd birdhouses are designed to be decorative, for use in your home or patio. Outside, they need to be hung out of direct sun and brought in during the winter months. Each birdhouse is painted with light fast, acrylic mediums and sprayed with an acrylic coating.  Since birds may nest, each birdhouse includes drainage holes and an entrance hole appropriate for small cavity nesting birds, such as chickadees and wrens
